MR SHAFII MOHAMED MRAMBAS

Mr. Shafii Mohamed Mrambas is the founder of KINOKO GENERAL ENTERPRISES LTD, a limited liability company incorporated under the Company Ordinance (Cap 212) of the Laws of Tanzania with certificate of incorporation number 46984 dated 23rd September 2003. Mr Mrambas was born in the year 1942 in the North East of Tanzania in the village of Lembeni, Same District, Kilimanjaro Region, some sixty (60) km away from the foot of the snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro.

Mr. Shafii Mohamed Mrambas attended technical school studies from 1962 to 1964 at Moshi Technical School. In 1965, After completion of his studies, he was appointed to work as a Bamburi factory was transferred to Malindi parking plant based in Dar es Salaam. Malindi packing plant was a department under the East Africa Portland Cement Campany Ltd based in Mombasa, Kenya, havingba cement brand name of Bamburi.

From Malindi Packing Plant, Mr. Shafii Mohamed Mrambas was moved to Wazo Hill area in 1965 to work in a new cement plant located some 36 kilometers north of Dar es Salaam city, along Bagamoyo Road. The new cement plant was a subsidiary company of the East African Portland Cement Company, called Tanganyika Portland Cement Company Ltd, having capacity to produce 365,000 metric tons of cement per annum by then. After the privatization policy of the country in 1966, the Tanganyika Portland Cement Company Ltd, changed to the name of Tanzania Portland Cement Company Ltd (TPCC) in 1967.

After hard work and a lot of training within TPCC as Miller, Blender and Burner, later on as Master Miller, Master Blender and Burner, he became Shift Master and a short moment later became Assistant Production Superintendent. After acquiring skills and experience, Mr Mrambas was offered by TPCC management a scholarship award to go for training abroad aiming at merging local experience with international exposure and standards of operations. Mr Mrambas was appointed to go abroad for further systematic overseas training in cement processing technology in Ireland and later on to Poland, Norway, Denmark and Germany. Some few year after the successful training abroad, he was promoted to the position of Production Superintendent and a few years later, elevated to the position of Production Manager, a position he held until his retirement in 1999. His employment service with the cement industry left no stone unturned. Mr Mrambas knows one employer in his continuous lifetime of employment for 31 years, from miller, burner, master miller and burner, superintendent and finally a manager.

After retirement in 1999, Mr Mrambas had a dream of founding a company. The dream, which started germinating in 2002 was realized on 23rd September 2003. He became the Chairman
